2025 in Review: A Year of Steady Growth in Premium, Guided by Consumers and Focused on What’s Next

vivo’s journey in India has always started with one simple truth people don’t just use technology, they live with it. Today, Indians are creating, celebrating and expressing more than ever, and they want devices that don’t just perform better, but feel more thoughtful, refined and meaningful in everyday life. This shift goes beyond improved quality and design, it’s about experiences that feel personal, symbolic and emotionally resonant. That understanding has guided vivo’s evolution: staying deeply connected to consumers while elevating the experience so that innovation feels effortless, human and naturally woven into daily rhythm.
Our Undying Focus on the Consumer Continued in 2025
In 2025, our commitment to cater to consumer needs deepened further. Indian consumers majoratively capture weddings, festivals, bustling night markets, family gatherings, and everyday memories. Understanding these real-world usage scenarios shaped how vivo designed products, experiences, and innovations through the year.
Our flagship X series has created an identity in professional level photography. Camera led features like 200MP telephoto camera and the gimbal grade main camera elevated the camera experience where users can take clear, crisp shots, even in challenging light conditions. Pro-level imaging was no longer restricted to the top variant, but extended across the entire X300 Series, ensuring a consistently premium camera experience.
Similarly, the X200 FE was vivo’s first compact flagship in the X Series, was a clear response to what Indian users truly wanted: compact design, powerful cameras, and flagship-grade performance. Its strong market response reaffirmed that premium must feel personal, purposeful, and relevant.
The innovations we made in Imaging mirrored this philosophy. AI-driven enhancements like AI Four Season Portraits and AI Festive Portraits elevated everyday photography by adapting intelligently to cultural and environmental contexts.
Beyond imaging, vivo’s consumer understanding extended to design and experience. The V and the Y series smartphones showcased how ergonomics and stylish aesthetics matter deeply to consumers.
Enhancing Consumer Experiences
That same consumer-first lens also shaped how vivo approached experience at a more holistic level; bringing software, imaging and design into a single, coherent story. With OriginOS 6, our goal was to rethink the digital environment so it feels intuitive, responsive and genuinely smooth. Rather than grafting on features, we focused on making interactions feel smoother and more natural with seamless transitions, context-aware behaviours and personalised responses that align with how users actually engage with their devices.
Similarly, advancements such as the Telephoto extender kit in the X300 series were introduced to bring professional-grade photography experience closer to everyday use, specially in the wildlife scenario.
Focus on Consumer Needs and Experience Helped vivo Gain Momentum in the Premium Segment
2025 saw vivo make steady progress in the ₹50,000+ premium category. The launch of the X Fold5, X200 FE, and X300 Series marked a continued effort to refine its premium portfolio. While the category remains highly competitive, these launches helped vivo gain sharper insights and incremental traction in the segment.
The Journey Ahead
As we look ahead, our commitment remains rooted in the consumer; understanding their needs, respecting their preferences, and allowing those insights to guide how we can cater to those needs through technology. By staying close to how Indian consumers actually use their devices, vivo will continue to shape premium experiences that feel personal, intuitive and genuinely useful.
