This landmark year also saw vivo India's entry into the foldable smartphone category with the launch of the vivo X Fold3 Pro, redefining innovation in the Indian market.

2023

Introduced the wedding style portrait mode in cameras for Indian weddings and India-inspired Colour Material and Finish (CMF) in V and Y series.

2022

In October 2022, vivo India organized the vivo Tech Day which showcased the latest technological advancements by vivo.

2022

vivo India launched a country wide program – vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative. The vivo Ignite initiative aims at fostering a culture of innovation and empowers students in grades 8-12 to tackle real-world challenges using technology and innovation.

2021

In 2021, vivo India launched its professional photography flagship, the X70 Series, equipped with vivo’s first self-developed imaging chip, the V1 chip.

2021

vivo India launched the ‘vivo Cares’ initiative and pledged INR 10 crores to support India’s fight against COVID-19.

2020

In December 2020, vivo and ZEISS announced a long-term strategic partnership to jointly promote and develop breakthrough innovations in mobile imaging technology. The companies also unveiled plans to establish a joint R&D program – the vivo ZEISS Imaging Lab. The vivo X60 series was the first to feature the ‘vivo ZEISS co-engineered imaging system’.

2019

vivo India reaffirmed its commitment to India by expanding manufacturing capabilities.

2018

vivo India acquired additional 169-acre land in Greater Noida, supporting Government’s ‘Make in India’ vision through its manufacturing facility expansion.

2017

On 31 May 2017, vivo signed an official agreement with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), becoming a sponsor of the FIFA World Cup™

2016

vivo secured the Indian Premier League title sponsorship rights, the biggest sporting extravaganza in India.

2015

In Dec 2015, vivo India joined the 'Make in India' initiative and inaugurated its authorized smartphone manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, India.
