So, everything in OriginOS 6 revolves around three key pillars:
- First, Smoothness – the system should feel fluid, responsive, and effortless, delivering a seamless performance in every interaction.
- Second, Design – that aims to offer something which is intuitive and delightful, inspired by the calm and balance of nature. We have focused on creating visuals and motions that feel natural and soothing to the eye.
- And third, Personal Intelligence – it means being smarter in the moments that matter. While we have included all the essential AI features, we have especially focused more on those that truly help users in their everyday lives.
Hence, our goal is to create an experience that feels natural, fluid, and genuinely helpful. An OS that adapts to you, rather than the other way around.
Q. This is the first time the OriginOS will be available to users beyond China. How does it impact the users at large?
Yes, this is an exciting milestone for us. Over the years, OriginOS has continuously evolved through user feedback and innovation, and now we are ready to bring that experience to a wider audience.
While the foundation of OriginOS is globally refined, we’ve gone deep into understanding local user needs, behaviours, and expectations to make sure the experience truly resonates in every market.

We have focused on two layers to make this possible.
- The first is the Perceptual Layer – what users actually see and feel on the screen. This includes the smooth motions, gentle transitions, and natural animations that make every interaction feel effortless.
- The second is the Technical Layer – the part you don’t see, but always experience. This is powered by our new Origin Smooth Engine, which intelligently manages computing, storage, and display to keep performance fast and consistent, no matter what you’re doing.
Together, these layers ensure that every scroll, swipe, and switch feels fluid, natural, and beautifully responsive, delivering a truly seamless experience from the inside out.
Q. OriginOS has always been known for its unique design language. What new designs or elements set this new OS apart?
The OriginOS 6 draws inspiration from nature, embracing a design philosophy that feels simple, balanced, and deeply human. We see the digital world as an extension of real life, so the goal was to make every interaction feel intuitive, effortless, and genuinely delightful.
The new Origin Design System represents a complete visual refresh, built from the ground up. It brings clarity, depth, and refined order through carefully designed colors, symbols, layouts, and typography.
We’ve enhanced material and lighting effects such as real-time blur, ambient glow, and HDR highlights to create a more natural sense of depth. The new vivo Sans font, co-designed for digital screens, offers a cleaner and more comfortable reading experience.

Q. What are some of the key features in the OriginOS 6 that can broaden the scope of AI?
At vivo, our AI strategy is clear – we focus on features that truly add value to users’ lives, not just a long list of capabilities.
Our aim is to deliver an AI that truly matters to users – features that make everyday interactions smarter, simpler, and more intuitive.
The idea is to enhance daily experiences, not overwhelm them. We want the phone to act as a smart assistant, understanding context and helping users effortlessly in the moments that matter.
Of course, we’ve included all the essential AI features consumers expect, like in both photo editing and productivity. In photo editing, features like AI Eraser, AI Cut-out, AI Magic Move and AI Expander make capturing and editing easier than ever. In productivity, tools like AI Document Scanning, AI Creation, AI Captions, and AI Search help users work faster – from creating summaries and transcriptions to finding files or notes through natural language queries.
And then there’s Origin Island, which takes contextual intelligence even further. It senses what you’re doing and offers helpful suggestions in real time – like showing navigation during your commute, suggesting captions in a meeting, or offering quick actions when you copy a number.
So, with OriginOS 6, AI isn’t just a feature – it’s a companion that understands you, adapts to you, and quietly makes every interaction smoother and smarter.
Q. What has the initial user/beta tester experience been like?
A: First of all, we’d like to highlight that this time we received almost 15 times more registrations for the Preview (Beta) program, than what we used to see for the previous generations of Funtouch OS. That in itself shows the excitement and trust consumers have in vivo’s software journey.
The feedback from beta users has been very positive. Many have shared that they can immediately feel the difference in smoothness and responsiveness. The overall experience feels faster, lighter, and more fluid.
Users are also loving the new design language. The refined visuals, smooth animations, and clean layout make the interface look elegant and feel easy to use. This was something that they had been always looking forward to.
What stood out most is how intuitive and intelligent the system feels. Features like Origin Island and smart suggestions have been appreciated for being helpful and timely, without feeling intrusive. Overall, users feel that OriginOS 6 truly elevates the smartphone experience – combining speed, design, and intelligence in a way that feels effortless and natural.
Q. With the big OS launch, what are some of the other things in the pipeline for users?
This launch is just the beginning, not the end. We see it as the start of a new chapter in our software journey. There’s a lot more to come. We will continue to stay close to our consumers, listen to their feedback, and keep innovating to explore new possibilities and experiences.
Our focus will be on deepening the user experience – making the system even more seamless, connected, and intelligent across devices. You’ll see us investing more in areas like AI-driven convenience, cross-device connectivity, and long-term performance optimisation.
