At vivo, innovation is powered by people. Every smartphone created is the result of passion, precision, and purpose—shaped by thousands of individuals who are not just building products but shaping India’s digital future.

Since its early days in India, vivo has been committed to growing with the country; invested in local talent, built world-class infrastructure, and fostered a culture where people thrive. Today, that vision is reflected across its Greater Noida manufacturing facility—an epicentre of technology, craftsmanship, and opportunity.

A Decade of Growth, A Community of Changemakers

Spanning 169 acres along the Yamuna Expressway, the vivo India factory is more than a manufacturing hub. It’s a place where around 8,000 employees come together to build smartphones for millions of Indian users—right here at home.

In just a few years, the facility has grown from limited capacities to an annual production capacity of 60 million devices. But for vivo, the true measure of success is the journey of every individual who has grown with it. “Over the years, we’ve seen the transformation of mobile phones from a gadget to an integral part of human life,” said Kapil Kumar, an Engineer at the factory, who has witnessed various evolutions within the factory and beyond.

A Culture Rooted in Care and Capability

At the core of vivo’s steady growth in India, is a deeply rooted culture and one that is built around empowerment.  Employees are welcomed into an environment that values their voices, supports their growth, and recognizes their contributions. Programs like V-Aagman ease the onboarding experience, while V-Connect creates space for feedback and innovation. Health and wellness initiatives ensure holistic development, while leadership pathways open doors for long-term careers—not just jobs.

“Starting out as a trainee and now helping hire the next generation of talent has been incredibly fulfilling. vivo gave me not just a job, but a platform to dream, grow, and lead,” says Abhijit Satapathy, an Assistant Manager in Engineering as he reflects on his eight-year journey with vivo.

This people-first approach isn’t a strategy—it’s a commitment. One that reflects vivo’s larger philosophy: that investing in human potential fuels sustainable, inclusive progress.

Towards a Future Made in India

While vivo’s story in India has seen a magnanimous growth – the story is incomplete without its proud workers. To better understand what it truly means to work at vivo, we spoke with those who live the experience every day. For them, making a smartphone isn’t just technical work—it’s a way to contribute to something larger than themselves: India’s digital story. Because when something is Made in India, by Indians, for Indian customers, it is truly made with pride – bringing joy far beyond the production floor.
